July has been a warm dry month. River levels are low and water temps are high. The smallmouth bass dont seem to be bothered by the heat. We have been doing our fishing trips on the Grand and Muskegon river. Both are fishing good. We are catching alot of fish in the 12 to 16 inch range and they put up a great fight in the river current! We are also boating a few fish in the 18 to 21 inch range. Once they get near the 20 inch range they sure are a good fish. We have been getting a few fish on topwaters but most are being taken on sub-surface presentations.
