Pere Marquette River King Salmon Guide

The Pere Marquette River is designated as a Wild and Scenic River. It is also the longest unregulated (no dams or impoundments) river in the Lower Peninsula. The PM is the birthplace of Michigan’s brown trout and is known throughout the Midwest for its fantastic trout, steelhead and salmon fishing.

River Trek Guide Service offers King Salmon guide trips on the Pere Marquette River beginning mid-August through the month of September until about mid-October. Although not a planted system, it receives one of the best runs of Kings in the state of Michigan. The King Salmon that migrate into the PM run on the large size as well with fish over 30 pounds not out of the question.

We operate our guide trips from the town of Custer downstream to the mouth in Ludington. Casting crankbaits and bobber fishing cured skein (salmon eggs) are what we specialize in during our guide trips. Our Pere Marquette River King Salmon trips are probably the most popular guide trip we offer our charter clients. Hunting down these massive fish in this small river system is something that anyone who loves to fish should experience, and people from all over the country come to do it.
