Dog days of summer

The smallmouth bass fishing on the Grand and Muskegon river has been pretty good. In addition to good numbers, we have been seeing some good sized fish. We have been taking some fish on topwater presentations,  but our most consistent bite has been on sub-surface presentations. The river panfishing has been good as well. We have been finding them congregated around thick cover in the low flows we are currently experiencing. There are a few kings showing up in the northern rivers. Some cooler weather and  rain would sure be nice when it comes to those.
