We have been running our trips on both the Grand and Muskegon River. The Grand has dropped nicely from the bump in water level a couple weeks ago due to storms. Currently the river has somewhat of a heavy stain in areas I have fished, but it looks good and is clearing everyday. Some storms are predicted over the next couple of days, so we will see what that does to the river. Water temp in the Grand is in the upper 70’s to low 80’s. Just about every presentation seems to be catching smallmouth, and we have been coming across some nice crappies as well.

The Muskegon is at a slightly elevated summer level at this time and is clear to somewhat stained depending on the stretch of river. Water temps are in the mid 70’s. Sub-surface and top-water presentations have both been effective.

In a few weeks I will be guiding for king salmon and not long after that will be fall steelhead. Get in touch with me at 616 813-5989 or steel-header@live.com for available dates.
