Summer fishing has been good for us on both the Grand and Muskegon Rivers. With a lack of rain so far this summer, both rivers are low. The Grand River has a good stain as of now, with sections upstream of Grand Rapids running a little clearer than areas downstream. The Muskegon River is generally very clear. We are finding smallmouth digging in the rock for crawfish and also hanging around grass chasing baitfish. Sub-surface baits worked slowly have been the most productive presentation, although we have had our days and time periods throughout the day when topwater has been very effective. Summer fishing will remain good through the rest of the summer and should get better yet through the month of July if river conditions remain stable. I have summer dates available through August.
I have very few king salmon dates available, but cancellations are always a possibility so get in touch with me if you are looking to get out this Sept through mid Oct for those. Also, get in touch if you are interested in fall steelhead fishing (Oct through Dec) so you can lock in your date. (616) 813-5989
