Steelhead season is winding down. Still a few steelhead around, but not the numbers we usually see. A mild winter and warm spring had the fish spawning quickly and exiting the river. Lower than normal hatchery fish this spring, probably due to the missed plant in 2020 due to Covid closures. I’m thinking that next year we will see an increase in the steelhead numbers. Thanks to all the customers that fished with me this steelhead season. We had some good days and also some real grinders. I have a couple more steelhead trips to fulfill, then we will be switching our focus to different species. Smallmouth bass trips are starting soon, and we may possibly have a good bite early due to warm water temps. Also the possibility for walleye and pike. The fishing for smallmouth will continue through the summer. Trout are also a great option in May and June. Get in touch with me about specifics. I have very few king salmon dates left. Give me a call, text or email about those or fall steelhead trips.
