Smallmouth bass fishing in West Michigan area rivers is great right now. Rivers are low and warm and the smallies seem to be loving it. Top-water and finesse tactics have both been working great, and we have been boating some quality fish. Other species are available if you can get your presentation past the aggressive smallmouth. The hot bite should continue for the remainder of summer. I have been running my trips on both the Muskegon and Grand rivers. Both have been fishing equally good.
