We finally received some much needed rain putting an end to our drought. Since the rain, which was about a week and a half ago, we have not fished the Grand River due to very high and dirty water. The water level on the Grand is dropping quickly though and if that trend continues we should be back to fishing it next week. As of late, we have been running our trips on the Muskegon River. The Muskegon had a much needed increase in flow from the rain, but is now back to low and clear conditions. The smallmouth bass fishing has been good, as would be expected this time of year. We have also been taking some northern pike on our recent Muskegon trips. We have been working the darker rock infested water and fishing tight to cover with both sub-surface and top-water presentations. I have some July and August days available if you want to get in on the hot summer bite. Give me a call at 616 813-5989 if you want to talk fishing. Pictured above is a 4lb largemouth bass taken yesterday on the Muskegon River.
