We are back to fishing after being shutdown by the state due to covid. We will be taking all the precautions we can to ensure your health if you book a charter with us. The boat and equipment is sanitized after every outing and we will provide gloves and facemasks to those that need them. Trout fishing has been good on the Muskegon and there is still a few steelhead around as well. It wont be long and smallmouth bass fishing will be heating up. We are filling some summer smallmouth dates on the Grand and Muskegon river. This is some fast action fishing that is fun for people of all ages and experience levels. Fall king and steelhead trips are also filling. Never a bad idea to book early for those as they tend to fill in fast. If you have any questions about our guide service, dont hesitate to call or text me at 616 813-5989.
The Muskegon River and the Grand River are both fishing good right now. Both have fresh steelhead working their way upstream. The Muskegon is at an elevated level right now but the color looks perfect. The Grand River is still very high but slowly dropping and chrome and dark fish are being caught in the downtown area. This warmer weather has brought fresh fish into West Michigan area rivers and if the weather pattern continues we should continue to see that. If you want to get out before the spring crowds get with me for availability. I love these early run fish.
The weather this winter so far in West Michigan has been unbelievable. The above normal temps have allowed us to continue to open water fish. Our outings this month have mainly taken place on the Muskegon river due to the Grand being so high and dirty. Steelhead fishing has been consistent. We are having to work for them but that is typical of this time of year. Hard effort goes a long ways though and there is truly something special about winter fishing. Float fishing bag & bead combos has been our most productive tactic and we have taken a few backbouncing bait as well. If this weather trend continues, I would anticipate an early run of spring steelhead. I have some February availability and have some March/April dates open as well.
