After what was a slow start to our fall steelhead season, fishing is definitely picking up. We are seeing better numbers and better fish. Warm river temps and low river levels made for a slow start to the fall steelie season. Small fish and tough fishing had us grinding, but over the last week, there has been an improvement. I anticipate the fishing to continue to get better with the colder temps and, hopefully, more precipitation. I have fall and winter dates available. It’s been a busy month and a half for us running salmon trips. The fishing was good despite the strange conditions we experienced. Very low, clear and warm water conditions had the fish trickling in instead of pushing through in big waves. Nonetheless our customers had some awesome days and great memories were made. As of today, we finally got some much-needed rain and cooler temps, bumping up river levels and dropping river temps. I have a few more salmon trips to run this week, then I’m hoping to switch over to fall steelhead. If you are interested in fall steelhead, get in touch with me regarding trip information. The best way to reach me is by phone, call or text. 616 813-5989.

Summer has been flying by. It’s hard to believe in another month we will start running King Salmon trips. As of late, smallmouth bass fishing has been very good on area rivers. The Muskegon River is at a good summer level and very clear. The Grand River is looking good as well and has a normal summertime stain. Top=water and finesse fishing tactics have been catching fish. I have availability throughout the month of August for bass and other warm water species. Also, get in touch with me for information on our guided trips for fall migratory fish, salmon and steelhead.
