The buck pictured above is a mature, wild winter steelhead. We have been seeing some very nice fish on our outings so far this winter. The Grand River has been fishing good for us. Bobber fishing beads, spawn bags and hair jigs has been productive. Back-bouncing eggs has been working well too. The recent mild temps have been great for getting on the river. I love winter steelhead fishing. If it’s something you have never experienced before, you might want to consider giving it a try with the above normal temperatures forecasted. I have both weekend and weekday availability this month for Grand or Muskegon River steelhead. I will be running trips for steelhead now through the month of April. (616) 813-5989

Steelhead fishing has been pretty good to us this late fall. It won’t be long, and we can officially say its winter. The steelhead are moving into their typical winter holding water and will become very predictable. Beads and spawn bags fished under bobbers have been taking fish along with back-bouncing eggs. The last few weeks I have been running my trips on the Grand River which is very low and clear compared to recent years at this time. The Muskegon River has good flow and is very clear as of today. The weather has been pretty crazy this last month, which at times has made the steelhead fishing non-consistent. Everything should start to stabilize, and the fishing will follow suit. I’m expecting some good winter steelhead fishing and have a couple of dates available at the end of this month. I have plenty of January and February availability. I love it on the river during the winter months. Get with me to experience some West Michigan winter steelhead fishing! 616 813-5989

I apologize for the lapse in reports. It has been a busy couple of months for me. After a month and a half of King Salmon trips up north on the Pere Marquette River, we are back closer to home fishing the Grand and Muskegon Rivers. King Salmon fishing on the PM River was very good this year. Big fish and a lot of them. Unbelievable how many fish pushed through that river during the 7 weeks I was up there. Thank you so much to the customers that kept me busy during this year’s salmon run, it was fun. At this time, I am turning my attention to fall steelhead. The current weather we are experiencing (rain, cool temps) should get a good start going to the fall steelhead run. Through the rest of this month and November and December, steelhead numbers will increase. Give me a call if your looking for a report or are interested in a fall steelhead charter.
